This whole week has been dedicated to the floors in the kitchen. The Higgins Hardwood Floor crew did a great job. They were able to do such a good job matching the new floors to the existing ones. There are two spots where the new and old floors are next to each other and I am amazed at how great the transition looks. I am thrilled with the results!
My Mom decided to help today too. For our anniversary, Mom and Dad gave us two blue hydrangea bushes. Our wedding theme was centered around blue and pink hydrangeas, so this was the perfect present. It was even better when she volunteered to plant them. The plan was to transplant the azaleas from the front garden to the hosta graveyard in the back. The new hydrangeas are now featured in the front garden. Thanks Mom!

Day 1 – Sand. (Right) The experts figure out the right stain to match.
Day 2 – Stain.
Day 5 – Third day of polyurethane. It’s hard to even tell where the new floor starts.
The detail on the back of the island. The perfect cottage detail. Love it!
While the floor crew were taking over the inside of the house, my Dad was working on the deck and the siding in the back. All of the finishing details are so fun to see.
Before the new siding was put on.
The deck looks so beautiful with the railing. This is also so much safer for the party on Friday!

We have one more week of construction in the kitchen and then the transformation will be complete. I can’t wait to share the photos of our new kitchen.Jill
