The Progress Continues...

Here's a quick recap of everything that has happened this week.  I have been really busy at work and feel like I haven't been part of the transformation but it is still nice to come home and see all of the progress.  I'm starting to picture how wonderful all of these changes are going to be.  Tonight after work, I went out onto the deck with the sun still in the sky and could picture us eating dinner and entertaining in our new space.  This house already feels like home!

Here's what was accomplished while I was at work.  (I would have rather been helping with the house!)

The shutters are all painted black and attached to the house again.  Thank you Steve and Dad!
Before the shutters were painted.

The house with the shutters painted black.  Now that front door needs some color.

The closet in the kitchen was removed.  This needed to happen for two reasons: the baseboard heat was removed from the wall with the new door and needed to be moved and the bathroom will eventually need more space.  This change will help us accomplish both.

The two windows in the new part of the kitchen were removed and replaced with one beautiful door.  When I left this morning I had two windows and when I returned I had a door.  It's like magic!  This is going to create great flow through the kitchen out to the deck.

This morning....

This afternoon!
Progress has continued on the deck.  The frame has been completed and the decking was delivered today.  Steve and I are going to learn how to attach the decking to save some cash.  This should be interesting.

The supporting beam is new.

You can see the start of the decking.

Our rhododendrons are starting the bloom.

They are going to be gorgeous.
For the weekend, we would like to:
1. Go to the dump!  (We finally have the paperwork to do this on our own.)
2. Finish the decking
3. Paint the front door?
4. Work in the garden (Always!)
5. Prime and paint the desk and chair
6. Play volleyball (This one is for Steve)

The possibilities are endless.

Jill
