My husband, Steve and I have been married since July 2009 and have been looking for a house since June 2011. We have been trying to start the next stage of lives for awhile but couldn't seem to find a house to make our home. Today, we can happily say, we found a home that we love! We were able to find a cute Cape in a great neighborhood with potential. It has all of the qualities of your typical Cape Cod home. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and versatile layout and of course the all important 2 car garage for the snowy New England winters. Now we just have to make it through the inspection. Wish us luck!
As we prepare to move we can't help but think about all of the renovations...
The Kitchen -
The plan with the kitchen is to either refinish the cabinets or replace the cabinets to give a cottage feel. We love shaker style cabinets in white with black hardware. This vision will require some serious demolition (which Steve is thrilled about!) and a little help from my handy Dad.
The Princess Bathroom -
The downstairs bathroom has been given the title, "The Princess
Bathroom" because of the pink tile, pink vanity, pink tub and yes pink
toilet. We plan to keep the general layout but replace everything.
Hopefully this will be a renovation that happens sooner rather than
later.
The Deck -
The deck project will must likely be pushed out into Year 2. We would like to create a 2 tiered deck that would allow access from the kitchen. This renovation requires the addition of sliding glass doors where there are currently two windows.
These are just a few of the projects that we're thinking about already. I'm sure our priorities will change once we move in and begin to understand the home. Regardless, this is going to be a fun adventure! We'll keep you posted on our progress.
